Netbook News’ uncovered a prototype Quanta netbook fashioned with embedded wimax broadband. Quanta is one of the many Taiwanese original device manufacturers (ODM), and is the company that manufacturers most of the devices that Apple offers. Device and design aestetics aside, the mini laptop manufacturers should focus their manufacturing and marketing of laptops and netbooks with embedded broadband. This should be true for 3g, wimax, and lte broadband.

Customers of Verizon Wireless can now extend their broadband usage on their mini laptop with iGo’s Netbook Charger. All 2,400 Verizon Wireless stores will carry the charger which features iGo’s patented tip technology which powers mini laptops (netbooks), and mobile devices while at home, in the office, in the car, or while flying on a plane. The iGo Netbook Charger works on nearly every type of mini laptop. The charger also includes a USB cable for charging other mobile devices including cellular phones, bluetooth headsets, cameras, gps, and gaming systems.

Cellular South announced summer availability of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook with built in 3G mobile broadband. The 2.6 pound netbook features a 10.1 inch screen, a multitouch & gesture pad, and an edge to edge keyboard. The netbook will cost $199 with a new two year mobile broadband agreement.
